Entertaiment is a broad category of activities and entertainment, ranging from an individual selecting private entertainment from an increasing variety of pre-recorded products to a banquet for two; from a performance for thousands to a global audience on the internet. It can take many forms, including theatre, music and games. In some cases, familiar types of entertainment are shown to have the potential for reinterpretation when moved into another medium, such as the story of Scheherazade from Persian professional storytelling traditions, which inspired Rimsky-Korsakov and others to write orchestral works and films.
