Bates and Ferri (2010) define entertainment as an activity understood objectively, which involves communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires an audience and occurs in a passive form. Entertaiment is just one of numerous organizations that contribute to our societal needs.

Where Did The Word “Entertainment” Come From?

The word entertain comes from the Latin inter tenere, which means “to hold inside.” The prefix inter means in or among and the suffix -tene is an Indo-European root meaning to stretch.
